The Washington County Community Center centrally located in Abingdon, Va. serves all of Washington County to help build a stronger community by empowering people of all ages to be actively involved in the community through educational, recreational and social activities. The Washington County Community Center provides diverse services to all citizens, including recreation opportunities, group meetings, delivery of meals to homebound, support groups and volunteers are always appreciated. Contact us to see how you can be a vital part of our mission. We also have an ATM machine on-site for your convenience.
The Center is access point also for Area Agency on Aging; American Association of Retired Persons; Disabled American Veterans; Veterans of Foreign Wars; and Department of Visually Handicapped. Supporting contributions, memorials and bequests are also welcomed.
The Washington County Community Center is the sole provider of Meals on Wheels for all of Washington County, Virginia, delivering prepared meals for any person, by referral from health care facilities, social agencies, family, friends or neighbors. Veterans who are mostly home bound, regardless of age, are also eligible to receive delivered meals.
The Center serves as an information and referral source for seniors and community members of Abingdon and Washington County.
The Washington County Community Center is previously known as The Abingdon Senior Center.
